Hominy is the key ingredient to make one of the most popular Mexican stews ” Pozole¨.

 

RECIPES:

Pozole¨ is a traditional pre-Columbian soup or stew from Mexico, which once had ritual significance. It is made from cacahuazintle corn (whole hominy) with meat, usually pork, chicken, or turkey, chili peppers, and other seasonings and garnish. Vegetarian and vegan versions also exist.

Another way to prepare pozole: simply boil your favourite meat, add Dona Chionita Guajillo sauce to your taste, fresh onion and salt to your taste. Boil until the meat is cooked. Add the white hominy (remove the water from the can) to the boil for another minute or two and Listo!

To garnish simply add fresh chopped winter lettuce and onion. Season it with lime juice, Valentina sauce and oregano to your taste and enjoy with “Tostadas”

For a vegetarian option, simply omit the meat.
